The man is incredible! There's just no other way to describe him.

In just a few weeks James will be celebrating his THIRD year with Big Dogs. Two years ago (two years ago TODAY, in fact!) we did our first "In the Spotlight" article about this amazing individual approximately one year after he became an Alpha Dog. His outstanding courage in the face of personal adversity, his drive and ambition, his willingness to assist his downline people - all have contributed to his exceptional longevity in the Big Dogs program. Three years and going stronger than ever!

Not bad for a guy who had a "whopping" ONE sale his first full month!

Now, as you folks know, we generally present these "In the Spotlight" articles in a question-and-answer format. But James has such doggone terrific writing ability, that we decided to "let him off the leash" and have him present his philosophy of business in his own words.

"Well, it’s been over two-and-a-half years since I became an Alpha Dog. As you know I got off to a slow start (one sale in my first month!), but I was committed to six months and I stuck with it. It paid off, as evidenced by your invitation to put me 'In the Spotlight' for the first time two years ago! As you noted in a couple of e-mail messages and in your Big Dogs bulletin, the last few months have been very good – some of my best months ever."

(NOTE: With 35 ebook sales, James had his personal best month EVER in January, his SECOND best month in March, and ended the first three months of this year with his best QUARTER ever!!! Seems like James is making Big Dogs pay off even six years after our launch!!!)

"I think one of the keys to my success has been consistency. I have an established routine that I perform daily, seven days a week. I start at 5:30 am. I get up early for a couple of reasons. As you may know I am disabled and because of chronic pain I can not stay asleep for long periods. It is also quiet at that time, so I can work while my wife and kids are asleep. Finding a time to work undisturbed is important."

"Consistency and commitment are very important. I have received emails and phone calls from some of my Alpha Dogs complaining about lack of results. I usually find that they have only been at it for a few weeks, have not signed up with all the C.H.I.Ps, have not taken advantage of all the tools the C.H.I.Ps offer or have signed up for the free versions. As you know the free versions are practically useless. Some have not even read your bulletin or the training section!"

"I have not had to change my ads for a long time because they keep pulling for me. However, it took a long while before I found a couple of ads that worked consistently. Adminder was a big help there. I read my report every day and encourage your readers to do the same."

"My routine is as follows: I download my e-mail, I log into each C.H.I.P. for which leads are not e-mailed to me, I start mailing my sales letter to each lead source, I import the leads into my mailer, start my safe-list submitters, check ClickBank for sales, send a thank-you letter and enter my new customers in my data base, and then I try to answer any e-mail inquiries."

"I use Infacta’s Group Mailer software to mail my sales letter rather that using the S.A.F.E. option, if I can. I have found that my response is better this way. I have a series of subjects so that each lead source has a different one. I rotate them every two days and change the 'from' address every other day. This helps because, depending on how your prospect sorts their mail, the same thing does not appear in your prospect’s mail box."

"I also thoroughly explored every C.H.I.P. and take advantage of all the tools and bonuses they offer. For example, MWEFFA has a wealth of tools and bonuses that a lot of Alpha Dogs do not take advantage of: In addition to the daily FFA leads Mike offers a weekly list of classified (including their name for personalization) and search-engine lead sources, three free Pro memberships for daily lead sources, unlimited follow-up auto responders and a great news letter. The auto responders are great! I use them to follow up on sales. One can write an unlimited number of follow-up messages to encourage and motivate new and existing customers. My series of letters are spaced one week apart so as not to bombard my customers. Kiosk.ws has the same one, but I use MWEFFA’s because Kiosk.ws’ will not send to AOL addresses. TrafficWave has follow-up auto responders, too. I use them as well to build a TrafficWave down line and to drive traffic to my web site. All the C.H.I.Ps have something extra to offer besides the daily FFA leads. Use them! They come free with your membership!"

"I often get asked if I use any promotional resources outside the Big Dogs. The answer is 'yes.' I belong to a lot of safe lists and use two mass safelist submitters: iPostAd and SafeListBoys:"

"I also think it is important to have your own domain. It gives you legitimacy. Using a free web site tells your prospects you are not serious or committed. Your own domain fosters trust. If you can, use your domain e-mail address or at least your ISP-assigned address. Too many scam artists hide behind free, throw-away e-mail addresses from Yahoo! and Hotmail, etc. Distinguish yourself from the scammers and spammers! Avoid anonymity, too. Always include your name and contact information in your e-mail messages and sales letters."

"Speaking of reverse marketing, I got a call recently from some guy who wanted me to join him in his program. He got my phone number from one of my e-mail messages. He had been in Internet marketing for a little over a year. He said he didn’t make any money in his first year at all, but in his thirteenth month he suddenly made fourteen-thousand dollars! I do not know if his earnings are really true, but man, the guy was persistent and committed. Sometimes that is all it takes. If I had quit over my first-month’s results I would now just be a miserable wreak living on Social Security and who knows if I would still have my family or house?"

Eight years ago I was a rather successful executive in the brick-and-mortar world. I was very pleased with my salary. My hard work and sacrifices had finally paid off. I felt like the time to enjoy life had just begun. My wife and I married the year before and she was pregnant with our first child. We now lived in our dream house. I even got the golden retriever puppy I always wanted from my wife for our first wedding anniversary. I had no idea how much my life would change.

As I was getting ready for work one morning I was struck by a painful spasm in the base of my spine. I managed to grab hold of the bathroom counter and avoided crashing to the floor. I called out to Jennifer, my wife, for help. She was shocked when see saw me on the bathroom floor, unable to move my legs. I was in good spirits, though, and calmed her down. To make a long story short I haven't gone back to work. I'm disabled now. I can't stand or sit very long without mounting pain and anxiety. I have to lie down periodically to rest. For the first time since my paper route I had no job. Then I heard about the Internet.

I was amazed at all the products, services and programs. The Internet was the answer to my problems! So what if I needed to lie down on the floor every so often to rest. I could set up shop on the Internet and work at home. In no time I'd be back in the saddle again.

Like you I started out on a misadventure.

For the first time in my life hard work and dedication were not leading me to success. It seemed like I was going in all directions at once. I was very busy, but I certainly wasn't successful. I found out the hard way that the stuff I bought just plain doesn't work! I kept wondering why everyone else was getting rich and I was becoming frustrated to say the very least! I found out why: the guys that were making it out there, the gurus, heavy hitters and big dogs were keeping the stuff that worked a secret. Most of what they tell us doesn't work. They only tell you just enough to keep you around and interested so they can continually feed on you. We've been getting ripped off!

I got on line just like you to start making money. That was 7 years ago and I just want to share something with you because I learned a lot and I am still around. You have a good program but you need to make money with it - not just have it do nothing for you. I am the same way. The reason: I have been there - right where you are. I know you DON’T get many real messages, but this is one of them. When I started out I did everything you are doing right now.

I spent money I DID NOT HAVE and bought Power Submission software and spent hours posting to FFA pages, Search Engines,and Classifieds for every program I was in.

I bought Bulk Email Ads, spending hundreds of dollars a month for these leads.

I joined a lead company and bought 1000 leads a month from them. That cost me $600 a month, believe it or not!

I called on Super Affiliates and followed their advice.

One day while I was deleting e-mail I ran across a headline, somewhat like others I'd seen before, but I opened it anyway. Boy was I glad I didn't just delete it like usual. I even clicked on the link and visited the web site. I had seen it before, but just before I closed my browser, my curiosity got the better of me and I studied the whole thing. Then I studied it again.
