"Why Big Dogs?"
The Genesis of a Legend!
-Part I-

Just ONE PERCENT of Internet companies have lasted as long as Big Dogs.

And... not only have we merely survived, we have THRIVED, and become one of the strongest marketing organizations on the Internet.

Was it just luck?

Was it merely a fluke?  A fortunate coincidence?  Just what IS the "secret" behind Secrets of the Big Dogs?  What is it about Big Dogs that made one marketer describe it as... "as essential to Internet marketing as having 'Windows' on your computer?"

Let's first take a look at the "Secrets of the Big Dogs" ebook itself, the "launching platform" for the Big Dogs program...

I.  In the Beginning...

The most important thing to understand is that "Secrets of the Big Dogs" is not, like so many other ebooks, a collection of overworked clap-trap that looks great on paper, but just plain doesn't work in the real world.  "Secrets of the Big Dogs" is almost a "diary" of my own, REAL-LIFE experiences.  It's a diary of my time in the minefield of Internet marketing - as I call it, my "year of horror - during which time I received my battle scars... and eventually, my battle ribbons!

In other words, friends, "Secrets of the Big Dogs"
is a work of TRUTH!

This is why a day doesn't go by that we don't receive yet another testimonial from yet another satisfied reader telling us how the ebook changed his or her life.  If you haven't taken the time to read some of the DOZENS that we've collected on the Training Site, you should take the time to do so.  One or two are so touching, in fact, they may even make you shed a tear!  Ebook Testimonials.  (Then hit your browser's "back" button to return here.)

In it's current form, "Secrets of the Big Dogs" consists of nine Chapters.  Chapter 1 - "What the Internet IS" - is simply a brief history of the development of the Internet.  I felt that it was useful to include this information to give folks at least a brief idea of just what the Internet is and how it came to be.  Nothing heavy and not too much information, I wanted this chapter to give people a little overview about the marketing medium they have chosen as their livelihood.

In Chapter 2 - "What the Internet is NOT" - I tried to dispel the five major myths behind the Internet and give people a REALISTIC understanding of marketing on the Web.  I wanted them to know what I found out the hard way - that the Internet, while a very powerful marketing tool is certainly not the infallible, ultimate marketing tool that it is often claimed to be.

Chapter 3 - "The Secrets of the Big Dogs" - relates what I came to realize are the Ten "Need-To-Know" Items and Qualities that the top guns of Internet marketing inherently know and use every day.

And now we come to Chapter 4, what I consider to be the HEART and SOUL of the "Secrets of the Big Dogs" ebook!  Chapter 4 - "Traffic Generation on the Internet" - tells you what methods of promotion WORK, but even more importantly, what methods of promotion DON'T work!

Folks, I can honestly say that if I had had just this ONE chapter by my side when I started my Internet career, I would have saved literally thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of time!

Let me give you just two examples...

Like everybody, I started my promotional efforts by "blasting my ad to umpteen gazillions website" all over the Internet using the so-called ad-blasting programs.  Some were free, a LOT I paid for.  And ALL of them took up a huge amount of my time.  These ad-blasters supposedly blasted my ad out to "hundreds of thousands of FFA pages, classified ad sites, and search engines."  You have probably done the same thing that I, in my naive stupidity did.  You know, sit down with a yellow legal pad, a pen, and a calculator and start the ol' "geez, if just one percent of these people buy..." routine of pleasantly figuring out how many millions of dollars you were going to make!  It wasn't until many tears, and of course no sales later, that I came to find that, while these blasters MAY, in fact, have actually been placing my ad on those "hundreds of thousands of sites," human eyes never see 'em!

Then came my stint with what I call "chasing the search engines."

It was the same thing as my experience with the ad-blasters I mentioned above.  Designing the perfect "search engine friendly" website to get that fabled "Page 1, Number 1 listing" sounded so dog-gone LOGICAL - and so e-a-s-y with the proper (and expensive!) software.  Why, sure it takes a lotta work to put together that ideal website that the search engines love.  But after that, it's all gravy, right!?  Because THEN - once you have that "perfect page" - look at all that free traffic I was gonna get!  It wasn't until two months, two thousand dollars, and too many twelve hour days later that I found out that so-called "search engine positioning" is, at best, an exercise in futility.

And so ends Chapter 4, a compendium of methods and procedures that all sound SO darn logical, but in REALITY weren't worth a damn!

Now here's something I think you'll find kinda interesting.  Originally, the "Secrets of the Big Dogs" ebook ended here - after Chapter 4.  In fact it wasn't even called "Secrets of the Big Dogs."  Rather, the title was "Screwed by the Internet!"  (Can you tell that I was a little frustrated with Internet marketing!?)  I didn't really write "Screwed by the Internet" with the intent of making a lot of money from it.  I guess I simply wanted to put down on paper all my trials and tribulations and frustrations - like I said above, a kind of "diary."

Anyway, I showed an associate of mine the four chapters of "Screwed by the Internet" for his opinion.

His reaction was very favorable.  In fact he said, "Y'know, Stan, this is a great little ebook.  If a person just heeds your advice he can save himself a ton of money and time.  But let me ask you something.  Are you telling me then that NOTHING really works on the Internet?  Are you saying that Internet marketing is all pie-in-the-sky and a waste of time?"

"Well, no," I said.  "Over the course of the last year I've discovered a LOT of tools and techniques that DO work."

(It was, in fact, during this time that I had built the second largest downline in FFANET history USING those same workable techniques.  I had also used these same tools to generate a substantial full-time income on the Internet with other projects.)

"Well, then," he said, "don't you think that your book is only HALF done?  I understand that you wasted a lot of time, money and effort on things that DON'T work.  BUT... if that's what it took to discover the things that DO work, then why not tell people about 'em!  Heck, Stan, the way I see it, you owe it to people to let 'em in on the secrets those big dogs out there use to really make money!"

I thought about his comments for a while and I realized he was right!

Lightning struck!  A lightbulb went off!  "Screwed by the Internet" was about to become "Secrets of the Big Dogs," the C.H.I.P. (Co-ordinated High Income Portfolio) was about to be born...

...and Internet history was about to be made!
