Big Dogs And the (Supposed!)
"Summer Slow-Down"

("I guess not EVERYBODY takes the summer off!")

I just ran the stats for June, July, and August, guys, and you folks genuinely deserve a hearty round of applause for your stunning efforts during a time when a LOT of marketers go on a three month "vacation"...

.....Over THREE HUNDRED Alpha's sold at least one ebook during the "summer slowdown!"

Now, although we didn't break any records, I am proud to say that we STILL did a pretty dog-gone fine job.  Yes, you crazy kids did a VERY fine job, at a time when many programs have simply disappeared!  In fact, as of the end of August, we posted stats that are 9.24% HIGHER than at the same point LAST year!

Heck, everybody KNOWS that sales records are not supposed to be set in the three month period between June and September.  Right?  Everybody KNOWS that, unless you're sellin' beach-wear and sun tan lotion, you just might as well do what everybody else is doin'.....

.....and take the summer off.

Right?

Well, frankly, there ARE five very good, logical reasons for that assumption:

THE KIDS!  During those crucial summer months, those little rascals must be fed and watered, looked after, worried about, and - most of all - AMUSED!  Never an easy job, a parent's work load easily triples during school vacation time.

THE WEATHER!  Who wants to be chained to a computer screen when it's so dog-gone N-I-C-E outside!  Let's get out there and have some FUN!

YOUR 'ESTATE!'  In those glorious days of my misspent youth, 'R&R' stood for 'Rest and Relaxation.'  Now, as a homeowner, 'R&R' stands for 'Repair and Renovate.'  Someone once said that, "You don't own a home;  it owns YOU,"  and, by golly, I gotta agree with that.  During the nice weather months, there is always grass to mow, hedges to trim, shrubbery to shape and prune, gardens to plant and tend - not to mention the endless list of items to repair, replace, fix, update, and service!

YOUR VACATION!  The majority of folks tend to take their one or two week vacations during July and August.  Then, of course, when we return we need a week to rest from those vacations (and to catch up on household tasks that we left pile up.)

.....all very valid reasons for a "summer slow-down."

"Summer slow down" is as much "PSYCHOLOGICAL" as "PHYSICAL."  Yes, there ARE fewer prospects seeking a business opportunity.  HOWEVER, the number of folks PROMOTING a business opportunity ALSO decreases proportionately!  Thus, the numbers even out.

In addition, let's not forget that there are 191 countries in the world that DON'T celebrate the summer months like we in the United States do.  And of course, in the southern hemisphere, it's WINTER when we're in the depths of SUMMER.

In other words, the "summer slowdown" can become what is called a "self-fulfilling prophecy!"

We ALLOW "perception to become reality!"

So let's not get complacent!  Let's not get lazy!

The period from the second week of September through most of December is the PEAK SALES SEASON - the Fall selling season.  It's time to make money with the Big Dogs of Internet marketing.  The team that's been "kickin' the tires & lightin' the fires" of Internet marketing for over TWO DECADES.  Solid, stable, the "long-haul legends."

Ya done good this summer, Big Dogs, but during the last four months of the year you guys will experience your BEST sales months of the year and post 300% to 400% MORE than you did over the summer.

Don't waste this most valuable time of the year!

O.K. Let's Get To Work!

Enough Talkin'!

It's GO time!

NOW is the time to RE-DOUBLE your efforts.

As Brutus cautioned Cassius in Shakespeare's 'Julius Caesar:'

There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.

Based on our current stats, I would definitely say that we are "now afloat" on such a "full sea."  Now it's up to each of us to "take the current."

So, just how do you "take the current?"

Don't take a "day off," convincing yourself that you'll "make it up tomorrow."  "Manana" never comes, sports fans!  Be consistent in your marketing efforts, and never miss a day of promotion.  (After all, your Big Dogs "work day" consists of a mere half hour or so, right.)

But, then again...

"I like to work half a day.  I don't care of it's the first twelve hours or the second twelve hours.  I just put in my half every day.  It keeps me out of trouble."

-Kemmons Wilson, founder Holiday Inn hotels

It all boils down to this:  The more prospects that see your ads and the more OFTEN they see it, the more product you'll sell (whether its ebooks or pizzas).  The "Law of Large Numbers" will never let you down.  When you're doing well, you should work HARDER, not slack off.

Are you following up with all of your ebook purchasers?  Remember that these are "your" people.  Contact 'em, help 'em, BE there for 'em.  Whether you continue to promote Big Dogs for a day or a decade, "your" people will follow you anywhere as long as you treat 'em right.  Maybe a year down the road you'll develop your OWN program or go on to promote another product.  Treat your ebook purchasers as part of your family, your team, your troops - they will form your core group WHATEVER you do!

"The world of marketing is a jungle, folks.  Either fight and dominate, or hide and evaporate!"

In closing, my friends, I want to again thank you for your efforts and congratulate you all on a job well done.

Two frogs fell into a deep cream bowl
One was an optimistic soul
But the other took the gloomy view
"We shall drown," he said without more ado
So with a last despairing cry
he flung out his legs and said goodbye.

Quote the other frog with a merry grin
"I can't get out but I won't give in
I will just swim around 'til my strength is spent
And then I will die the more content."

Bravely he swam 'til it would seem
His struggles began to churn the cream
And on top of the butter he gladly stopped;
out of the bowl he gaily hopped!

What is the moral?
It's easily found:
If you can't hop out
Keep swimming around.

"You don't have to be great to start---

---but you have to start to be great!"

And there's no better place to start than---

GET up!
DRESS up!
SHOW up!
But never GIVE up!
